While i’m waiting for hiking trails to get sorted out, I like to shake things up by exploring local walking trails during the months of April and May and I encourage you to do the same! Best Southern Maine Fall Hikes: 3 Trails for Peak Foliage
Southern Maine is the perfect Fall destination—home to amazing breweries, apple orchards, corn mazes, cider donuts, festivals, and plenty of foliage. It’s also home to scenic hiking trails that range from easy to moderate and offer stunning foliage views. So, without further ado, here are three of my favorite Southern Maine Fall foliage hikes.
Hiking Family-Friendly Bradbury Mountain in Pownal, Maine
Located just ten minutes away from Freeport in Bradbury Mountain State Park, Bradbury Mountain is beloved by both locals and tourists for its wide, gentle sloping trails that provide hikers with a leisurely hiking experience. The family-friendly trails and fantastic summit views make for a great day spent outdoors.
Hiking Bald Mountain and Speckled Mountain in Milton Township
If you’re looking for a quiet Western Maine hike with fantastic views—look no further than Bald and Speckled Mountain. Adventurers can tackle the shorter Bald Mountain Loop Trail, which provides great views of nearby mountains and ponds, or continue onto Speckled Mountain, which rewards hikers with impressive Western Maine views for a moderate effort.
