About Quarry Ledge Campground

With 65 campsites and cabins, Quarry Ledge Campground is an intimate campground with plenty of on-site amenities. The campground roads are gravel and steep in some sections—making this a campground best suited for older kids and adults. There is one centrally-located bathhouse with single stall toilets and showers and several port-a-potty’s located throughout the campground. Overall, I found this campground to be very quiet and clean.

How to Make a Camping Reservation at Quarry Ledge Campground

Making a reservation at Quarry Ledge Campground is quick and easy. They have an interactive system that allows you to view campsite availability for your camping dates. You will get a variety of results depending on availability and filters such as price, site type, and amenities. Dog-friendly options will have a little paw print next to them. Each campsite listing contains photos, site details, amenities, and where the site is located on the campground map.

Insider Tips for Visiting Quarry Ledge Campground

Avoid crowds

  • Swap your weekend stay for a Sunday-Tuesday or Tuesday-Thursday stay. Restaurants, hiking trails, and downtown Bar Harbor will be significantly less busy.

What to pack

  • Swimming gear—swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, etc.

  • Comfortable shoes for walking, biking, hiking, etc.

  • A rain and/or wind jacket—in case of afternoon thunderstorms!

Best time to visit

  • Coastal Maine is the most enjoyable during the Summer (June-September) months when temperatures are welcoming to activities such as hiking, swimming, going to the beach, kayaking, etc.
