Nestled in Nature: Purposely Lost Tiny Homes

What if I told you you could spend the night in a beautiful treehouse suspended in the air—complete with every amenity you could possibly want. Instead of waking up to busy traffic or the neighbors fighting—you could wake up to the gentle rustle of leaves, the soft chirping of birds, and sunlight shining on your pillow. Sounds too good to be true, right?! Well—I’m here to tell you it’s not!

Purposely Lost is a collection of boutique tiny homes located on a beautiful parcel of land in Springvale, Maine. Guests can choose to stay in elevated treehouses or adorable “hobbit-inspired” homes. All of the homes come equipped with amenities galore—kitchens, work spaces, a private hot tub, a grill, wifi, and your very own dock! And plenty of peace and quiet.

My husband and I chose to stay at the canopy treehouse and I’m so glad we did! I was obsessed with the magic treehouse book series as a child and this treehouse allowed me to finally live out my childhood dream of sleeping in a treehouse. Let me tell you—we had the BEST time. We relaxed in the hot tub, swam in the pond, drank wine on the porch, cooked dinner on the grill, and watched the sunrise on the dock. Our stay was extremely relaxing and fun.

If you are looking for activities to do during your stay, there are so many vibrant towns and cities to explore! In Springvale, be sure to check out Mcdougal Orchards in the Fall for apple picking and head over to Springvale Public House for dinner.

If you’re looking to explore the coast, both Wells and Ogunquit are fantastic options. Wells is a popular summer destination for families, due to its beautiful sandy beaches. It also has great antique stores, seafood, and plenty of gorgeous ocean views. Ogunquit is known as an “old-money” beach town. It’s famous for its restaurants, shopping, beaches, and scenic marginal way— a walking path that provides stunning views of the ocean.

Whether you’re in need of a relaxing getaway or a home base for your Southern Maine adventures, the tiny houses at Purposely Lost are a great lodging option for couples or small families. Check out their availability calendar and book your stay today!

See you outside,

Katherine from MyMaine
